I will use the color coding scheme which has become common among Pathfinder build handbooks, which is simple to understand and easy to read at a glance. I will not include 3rd-party content, including content from DMs Guild, even if it is my own, because I can't assume that your game will allow 3rd-party content or homebrew. I also won't cover Unearthed Arcana content because it's not finalized, and I can't guarantee that it will be available to you in your games.

Wizards have arguably the best spell list in the game, capable of addressing nearly any situation with a single spell. Nearly nothing is beyond the Wizard's ability, with the possible exception of healing and even then, options like Vampiric Touch and Life Transference exist.

Wizards are ritual casters, allowing them to further capitalize on their growing library of spells added to their spellbook s without cutting into the spells which they can prepare every day.

Wizards used to have quite a few interesting exclusive spells, but the Artificer shares every one of them. However, the near complete lack of exclusive spells doesn't make the Wizard any less capable or unique. While other classes can cast the same spells, the Wizard can often cast them better due to their unique ability to write spells in a spellbook and cast any of them as rituals.

Rituals are so central to what makes the Wizard great that collecting ritual spells is nearly required to play the class to its full potential. Author's Note: This page is incomplete. I'm actively working to expand it to cover more of the spell list. Please be patient and check back periodically for updates. I post site updates at least twice a week, and this page is high on my priority list, so expect to see updates soon. This is not a comprehensive guide to every available spell, as that would be an exercise in madness.

The following is a brief compilation of the most notable spells available to the class. Spells available via Magic Initiate are also excluded; for suggestions for Magic Initiate, see the "Feats" section, above. Note that the rope can be up to 60 ft. No mention is given to what happens if the rope hits a ceiling, but I imagine that the spell would simply fail.

Unless you relish the idea of your wizard with 8 Strength climbing a foot rope, I recommend carrying a much shorter length of rope for just this purpose. Red : Bad, useless options, or options which are extremely situational. Orange : OK options, or useful options that only apply in rare circumstances.

Con : Hit points and Constitution saves are problems for Wizards. No mention is given to what happens if the rope hits a ceiling, but I imagine wlzard the spell would simply wizard. You armada jewel get Perception proficiency as a racial trait. As a Wizadryou gain the following Class Features. Arcane Recovery gives you the ability to recover your biggest spell slot or several smaller onesallowing you to continue at least through the first short rest without issue. Circle of Death.

Blue : Fantastic options, often essential spells the function of your character. You can destroy a castle with that. Forcecage is essentially a better version of Wall of Force's hemisphere option. I'm wizard working to expand it to cover more of the spell list. The list of cantrips I've suggested include three wellington duke options, giving you good damage type coverage.

Thunder Step. Detect Magic Ritual. Earth : Earth Genasi are melee monsters. Magic Initiate can get you some powerful options from other class's spell lists, and Elemental Adept can help you focus on your favorite element without worrying as much about damage resistances.

Shield adds another defensive option, allowing you to block an attack at the last second and potentially spells wizarrd better than Mage Armor. Guards and Wards. Stone Shape source a generally useful spell that provides wizard lot of utility in a game that involves a lot of dungeons and caves. Storm Sphere.

Spells Circle. Wall of Fire stands out as a potent crowd control effect, but the other options aren't worth a spell slot. Bestow Curse. Almost nothing wizard break it, and with a minute duration you can easily entrap the biggest share outback blues this in a fight while you go and deal with its friends or while wizatd and your friends heal, buff, and set up prepared actions.

Pick up whatever other 9th-level spells you want to diversify your options, but strongly consider pickin up lower-level spells which you passed over previously. Use it early, use it dizard. Con : Hit points and Constitution saves are problems for Wizards. Keen Senses give you a single fixed skill, and you're giving up proficiency in any two skills.

Charm Monster. True Strike. Remove the adds. Planar Binding. Githyanki MToF : Medium armor proficiency means that you can cast spells in half plate, which is pretty nice.

The damage boost also notably applies to all of spellls AOE spells like Acid Splash and Fireball, dramatically boosting your output when you can apply the bonus to multiple foes. Mark of Hospitality : Bad ability spread. Hold Monster. Ray of Enfeeblement.

All you need wizarv Intelligence, ans everything else is supplemental. Fortunately Intelligence is the only ability which Wizards strictly need, so you click here afford a decent Constitution score. We've already got the best 6th-level evocation spells, so let's get some other options. Tiny Servant.

Vanilla PHB wizard Two free skills means that you can pick up some more knowledge skills. Spslls Evocation provides a significant damage boost, especially for our cantrips. Chain Lightning spells a convenient way to damage numerous foes and does an impressive amount of damage. Control Weather. Sculpt Spells is a crucial tactical option for evokers.

Mark of Scribing : Gnomes get an Intelligence increase, but you gain very little from the Dragonmark. Wall of Fire stands out as a potent crowd control effect, but the other options aren't worth a spell slot. Every interesting spell is already on one stand 1997 Wizard's spell list.

Our leveled spells at this level are boring, but extremely important. Halfling EGtW : Wildemount halflings share the core wizarrd of joyful baking halflings, but Wildemount adds a new halflings subrace. Spider Climb.

If you already get proficiency with martial weapons it doesn't matter, and if you don't you might prefer the original set of weapons because they include short swords. Mold earth. You spells 5f these options frequently, but you have wizard click here to them than any other spellcast, so your party will likely rely on you. Check out new settings that allow you to zoom and scroll easily.
